About Me
How are ya!? Thanks for visiting my site.
I’ve been working in design for over ten years. Some of that time was spent working in Academia doing instructional design or web development, some of it as part of large associations like The American Institute of Architects doing communications and marketing, and some of it working for smaller companies doing product design and printing. Basically, I’ve spent my career doing a little bit of everything. I try to ascribe to the old proverb, “A jack of all trades is a master of none, but oftentimes better than a master of one.”
The design philosophy I follow is based on a simple premise: Design is a set of tools, not a standardized process. Each project is unique, and there is no one-size-fits-all solution to creating effective design. It is a nuanced process subject to individual needs and circumstances. This means that the more tools you have, the more ways you can go approach a project and come to a personalized solution. I pride myself on not specializing in any one discipline but familiarizing myself with many, and observing the intricacies in how they interconnect. This approach has given me the ability to contribute to any project, regardless of the medium, from conception to completion. I build and develop websites by hand or through web platforms like WordPress, Drupal, and Squarespace; I create graphics for the web (static / info / animated); I create graphics and layouts for print; I film, edit, produce video and animations; I work with audio; and I am a photographer. I even dabble occasionally in fine art and illustration.
Currently I am based in Dublin Ireland, but thanks to the internet I can work with folks from all over. If you would like to get in touch with me about the possibility of some work, full-time, contract, or freelance, please send me an email. Give me a shout at ranallo.bryan@gmail.com.
